Pickleball has become a regular sport in middle school physical education classes in the United States and is gradually becoming more popular among young people and the elderly.

Guangzhou was one of the earliest cities in China to develop pickleball. In 2017, with the support of the Shenzhen Municipal Sports Commission and the Shenzhen Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau, the Shenzhen Pickleball Association was officially established, becoming the first pickleball organization in mainland China.
